Can't add category to prodcut

Tried to add a product to a category but it does not add. Category is still blank

The explorer is for navigating your categories and not to select them. When you click on a category on the explorer, it will open the listing of subcategories of that category.

In you case, you should click on "consumer" in the explorer, in order to see your categories on the right side of that page.
Then, click on the name of the category you want to use on the right side of the popup, in the name column in order to add it.
