Did you check the FAQ ? The solution must be one of the points explained there.
If you want us to see what is the problem, please do a screenshot of your paypal plugin options screen so that we can see how you configured it.

I have a similar problem. My others payments methods works fine, but not the paypal plugin. Its does not appear on the check out. I have three diffrent sites with three diffrent settings/templates etc. What is the most essential to get paypal show up frontend? Should it work if i have all default settings? I guess the email is required, right?

The PayPal method will display even without the email address.
It should work with the default settings if you saved once the settings of the plugin in joomla and in hikashop and that the plugin is published.
If you changed some of the settings, then it might not display properly because of these modifications. Anyway, the complete list of things to check is written in the documentation link I posted in my previous message:
