optimizing shodowbox.js

We are in the process of optimizing our site and we are given this message from GTmetrix

Enable compression for the following resources to reduce their transfer size by 30.1KiB (66% reduction).

Compressing cdn.hikashop.com/shadowbox/shadowbox.js could save 24.3KiB (64% reduction).
Compressing cdn.hikashop.com/shadowbox/shadowbox.css could save 1.3KiB (64% reduction).


First: we are using Magictoolbox Thumb Plus tho show pictures so we are not sure it is necessary that shadowbox.js gets loaded. Is still needed? If not, how to get rid of it?

Second: If the download of this elements are necessary and are taken froma cdn.hikashop... how can we change the source? or even better, why is your CDN not delivering this source already zipped?

Hi,

If you have Magictoolbox, you probably don't need it. You can turn it off in the "image popup mode" setting of the Hikashop configuration.

Also, in that setting, if you select "shadowbox (embedded)", then HikaShop won't load the javascript and CSS of shadowbox from our CDN but will suppose that you have it included in your template (or by other means, like a module or a plugin).
Then, you're free to compress it anyway you want on your website.

Thanks for your clear explanation. We just turned off the "image popup mode" and the library is not loading anymore.
