Hi experiencing problem with some product variants where if customer selects a variant a different variant is placed in the shopping cart
this has now occurred several times with different products after upgrade
how do I fix this please

Hi,

The problem is probably with your template.
Try renaming the folder templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_hikashop/product/ via FTP and you should not have the problem.
So then, you can check each file of the folder by renaming them one by one, and once you found the file with the problem, keep it renamed, and redo the customization of the view file in the new version of the view file. You might want to contact your template provider if they did this customization.

Do I need to advise the template producer or does Hikashop not use this file templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_hikashop/product/show_default.php and can I ignore this from hereon? what about subsequent upgrades

Hi,

HikaShop uses this file instead of the default view file if it finds it.
It allows you or the template to customize the display of the product page without loosing your changes when you update HikaShop.
If that file was added by your template, then it's a good idea to notify the template provider of the issue. If that file was not in the template at the beginning, then it means that you added it when customizing something.

If the look of the product page is ok like it is now, then yes, you can ignore that file.
