How to Change Custom Field on Variant

Really excited about the latest update.

Release update shows this as an improvement:
We now support custom item fields on the variants listing on the product.

I'm not sure how to do? I'm looking at a custom item field, and still only see the product or category, but not variant as an option. Can you provide guidance? Thanks!

Hi,

This means that if you have custom item fields configured to display for the product you're looking at, and that you've configured the characteristics selection method to "table", the custom item fields will still work where before, the custom item fields would just be ignored.
It doesn't mean that you can restrict custom item fields per variants.
