Dependent options based on Package sizes selected

We have a quote to complete for a customer running a test site.

We have a product with different package sizes.

Then based on the packages, the customer must be able to choose the amount and flavours of the pies. e.g. 12 x 2 packs, must allow the customer to choose 6 flavours maximum and then be stopped from selecting more.

Same with the 10 packs, must be able to choose 10 flavours maximum then be stopped.

Is this possible?

What you can do is split that product into one product per package size.
Then, for each product, you can add as many "option" product as required so that the customer can select 6, 12, etc flavors.
But having both the package size selection and the flavors selection into one product page is not possible. Maybe something can be patched together with the extension calc builder to generate that but that's borderline and I'm not familiar with calc builder to be able to say if that's the case.
