SOLVED - Email Customizations Delete Themselves

We have entered custom text in the HTML email template and tested it. Worked fine!

However, when we opened the same email template to check something, and did a Save/Close, the custom text deleted itself.

Why is this happening?

Client wants custom messages in outgoing emails but the system keeps deleting them for no reason.

Please advise as to cause and suggest a remedy.

In the meantime, we are editing the emails directly in the file on the server.
