I haven't worked with HikaShop so far but with virtue mart. Right now, though, I wonder if Hikashop could be the choice for my next project.
A friend of mine wants to set up a monthly magazine which is supposed to be sold as a PDF. The user shall have the possibility to buy a subscription for various terms of time and get the opportunity to download the file after payment. So it should be a combination of subscription and selling files.
Is there any extension for Hika that would fulfil these needs?

Firstly, welcome to the Hikashop community !

To do that you'll just have to create an Hikashop product and attach the file you want your customers to download after their payment.

The user shall have the possibility to buy a subscription for various terms of time

Using HikaSerial subscription will enable you to have full subscription system so it should to the job !
