Need to add the order date/time to order creation e-mail

My customer would like to see the date and time of the order within the body of the e-mail.

I tried adding
<?php echo hikashop_getDate($data->cart->order_created); ?>
to both html and txt and previewed but do not see the date.

This should indeed display the date of the order in the email. Did you try to check the result with the "preview" button of the email edition interface ?
Could you provide some screenshots of the pages with your modifications and of the result ?

Yes I did try the preview. See attached screenshots

I'm not able to reproduce the problem. Can you confirm that you click on the "save" button of the email before clicking on the "preview" button ?

My fault, I thought the preview button worked without having to save it. The code is working fine now. Thanks.
