Could not instantiate mail function

When I want to change the order status and notify the customer by email, I get the message: Could not instantiate mail function.

Would you know why this is?

Hi,

This normally means that there is a problem with the configuration of the emails in the Joomla configuration.
So go there, check the email settings and use the "send test email" to make sure that the email is being sent.
If not, you need to check with your hosting what's going on.
If this works, then check the emails settings of the HikaShop configuration.
