Units wrongly changed on a CSV update

When updating form a CSV file and the units columns (weight_unit, dimension_unit) are missing, then their values are automatically changed to the default ones - kg, m.
I doubt it's meant to be this way, most probably a bug.
This is very inconvenient because one should always include the units columns, no matter if only the name is to be updated for example.

It's not a bug. It's done for efficiency. The import system is meant to add or replace products not update them.
If you want to update them, you want to use instead a mass action with a CSV import filter via the menu System>Mass actions and that will only update the columns in the CSV.
