SubCharacteristics?

Hello!

I have already installed hikashop business for a customer and the project was successful. I appreciated the time I spent on it.

Today, I have a new customer that need 300 products.

PART A: OK

All those product are classed with a characteristic called strength with a value between 1 to 10. Example:

Strength01
S.......02
S.......03
S.......04
S.......05
S.......06
S.......07
S.......08
S.......09
S.......10

PART B: ?

Then, there is a sub-characteristic "material" that is only available to characteristics with a strenght between X and Y.

Example:
Material01 is available for characteristic strength between 01 and 06
M.......02 is available for characteristic strength between 01 and 06
M.......03 is available for characteristic strength between 04 and 08
...

PART C: ?

Then, depending of the combinaison of Strenght and Material, there is a series of optional "yes/no".

Example 1:
Strenght 01 and 03
Material 02 and 03

Optional value:
Warranty (yes/no)
Extended Warranty (yes/no)

Example 2:
Strenght 01 and 01
Material 01 and 02

Optional value:
Warranty (yes/no)
(no extended warranty on those combinaison)

Bla Bla Bla

All characteristics have a fixed cost associated.

Is it possible to do this with Hikashop?

As a developper, is it a lot of work to add a sub-characteristic to hikashop? More then 40-60 hours?

The characteristic system in place in hikashop is not really adapted for such thing. We started to work on an "option" feature which will work this way. Finishing that feature for someone who knows what he is doing in PHP should be a week work max.
