Categories list no. of columns not changing was created by davcraiguk
I am trying to change the number of columns from 3 to 2.

I have changed the field 'Number of Columns' under Configuration/Display/Modules main default options. But this does not change the number of columns displayed in the fron-end. I have cleared the cache in Joomla and in the browser and still no column change.

Am I trying to change this in the wrong place?

That's explained in the FAQ there: www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/6...y-front-end.html#faq

I'm trying to change the display settings in the tab Display of the configuration but I don't see the changes on my product/category listing on the front end.
That's because the settings on that screen are only for NEW menus and modules. Existing modules and menus have their own set of options that you can access via the menus Display->Content menus and Display->Content modules.

Hello Nicolas, I have everything set to 3 columns but still showing just one. When I first configured categories they were perfect in 3 columns.
I have configured new menus, set different styles, but still 1 column.

another issue, when hover a categorie white background turns to transparent, where can I change that?

That's because you turned on the "use bootstrap design" option of the configuration but your template is not compatible with bootstrap. You'll have to turn off that option in HikaShop and it will display in several columns.

I am having the same problem and my template IS Bootstrap compatible.
In the frontend, the top row has 3 columns then each row below only has 2.
(I want 3)

I've put bootstrap back on and made the shop menu public so you can see it -

It looks like you removed the frontend CSS file of HikaShop in the Display tab of the HikaShop configuration. Without it, you don't get the CSS code which fixes that problem:

So either re enable the HikaShop CSS or add that CSS to your template CSS and it will display fine.

I am also having the same problem and my template is bootstrap compatible I am using Gavick Pro Storefront Template 181.224.137.241/~desaiswh/mic/
Another problem is I have renamed a category as I have installed the Quickstart paackage of the Template and I am no Joomla expert so I thought I would build over the quickstart package but the demo and quickstart are not the same ?

So it doesn't seem that you have the same problem and maybe it is on a different page ?

The Quickstart package of the template is designed by the template developers. They decided not to use the default data of HikaShop and instead have their own default data.

Hi

It is for a different page but I have sorted the problem out I had to go to Configuration-Display-Use Bootstrap Design= NO
This sorted out my problem .

Another problem I am encountering is on the page you have a screenshot off HOME page - How can I set which products are displayed on featured tab , at the moment I see random items from random articles on it - How can I choose what products to be featured ?

Hi,

Create an unpublished category and add the products you want to that category. Then, edit your products listing module that is displayed on that page via the menu Display->Content modules of HikaShop and select that unpublished category as "associated category" and that should do it.

Another problem I am having , I have posted as a new topic but cannot get any response is : How do I remove Common Price as the main Highlighted Price and perhaps have "Our Price " highlighted and in Big text as" Common Price " now is ?

To edit the common price and price display, you have to edit the view "product / listing_price".

Hi

Thanks for the swift response ,it was indeed my error I posted the topic in GavickPro Storefront forum and not in Hikashop , my apologies .

Is there no easier way to show selling price without CSS ?
I assumed there might be a setting under configuration that could have sorted out my problem ?

Hi,

You've configured your category listing as a "list" layout.
In that case, there is always 1 column and there is no option to display it in several columns.
You would have to edit your menu item via the Joomla menu manager, and under the "categories options" tab, you would be able to change the "list" layout to "div" to be able to select several columns in that tab.
