How can I send the file which is attached to the product via email, instead of making the customer go to the website, log in, and download that file from there?
There is no option for that. If you want to do it, you need to edit the email via the menu System->Emails (business edition) and add some code to add the files as attachments but you will first have to load the files of the products from the database.
