Adding a custom field

I have a client who needs a field on check out for wording to be engraved on item. I went to custom fields and made the field, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to make it display. PLease help.

When you create a custom field, on the right of the screen, you have the option "Front-end" which needs to be set to yes.

Did that. Still nothing.

I can see the field on your checkout and it works fine.
You probably don't see it because you're already logged in and you need to click on the new button to enter/edit your address. You will see it there.
