Scrollable "Brands" box? was created by bonzomedia
We're struggling with the layout of a shop that we've built.
The shop has a significant number of "brands" and we have a brands box at the top of the page.
To begin with we just allowed this box to populate with all of the brands but customers were getting confused as the products within the brands were way down the page and not visible without scrolling down.
I've put in a temporary fix to make the brands box a set height with a scroll bar but it's ugly.
What I'd really like is for the brands to be represented in an automatically scrolling horizontal pane - a bit like a slideshow.
Do you know any way of easily achieving this?
Shop can be seen at www.brocksmenswear.co.uk/index.php?optio...ut=listing&Itemid=58
Thanks!

Why not use an image scroller like DJ slider that we're using on our demo website:

Nicolas - as always thanks for your prompt answer.
That would work perfectly. Is there a specific version of that module for hikashop? If not, what integration work is required to make it work?
Thanks
Richard

We use the scroller as it is provided. Without any integration. We just added the images we needed and set the link to the corresponding page. You should be able to see its configuration in the back end of the demo website.

Nicolas - OK, I was really looking for a module that might integrate tightly with hikashop so that there would not be another layer of administration if a brand is removed or added to the store...
I did find this: www.landofcoder.com/joomla/hikashop-component
Sounds like they have integrated it. I've messaged them to ask whether it is capable of being used for categories as well as products...
Thanks!

Indeed, these modules seems to be integrated with HikaShop so that you don't need to setup anything separately.
We're also working on a solution to that but it's not yet ready.
