Display message when no shipping method selected

Hello.

At the moment when a customer tries to checkout, if they have not selected a shipping method, the checkout page just refreshes. Is it possible to display a message prompting the customer to select a shipping method?

I know it's possible to make the first option selected by default (which would solve the problem), but my client doesn't want this.

Thank you for your response. I checked the "index.php" file in my template and the line "<jdoc:include type="message" />" is present and in the correct place.

Do you have any other suggestions I can try?

I am experiencing this issue for both sites I use HikaShop on, they use different templates. Both are version 1.5.2, though one is Starter and one is Essential.

Further to my post above: I do see a message when no address has been entered, but not when a shipping or payment method has not been selected.

Could you point me in the direction of the code that suppose to insert the message?

It must be because of your checkout workflow which is in several steps and the confirm and shipping/payment are on different steps and the select default shipping/payment option selection is turned off in the Checkout tab of the config.

You have several ways to solve the problem:
have the confirm shipping and payment view on the same step
have a default method selected by turning the option on in the config
modify the code of the file components/com_hikashop/controllers/checkout.php in the functions after_shipping and after_payment

We'll look at improving that for next version.
