Changing Address Layout on Emails

Trying to change the address layout on the Order Notification Emails fomr:

8005 Hickory St
65208 Selma Alabama

To:

8005 Hickory St
Selma, AL 65208

I looked at the Email in the configuration panel and didn't see anywhere to change how this is laid out.

Address display can be changed by editing the files address_template (there are several files to change) via the menu Display->Views.

So, I need it to show the two letter code for the state instead of the state name.

Here in the US, we have 50 states and each is shown on addresses with the 2 letter code, not the full name of the state.

That's actually not possible without a big chunk of code. You will have to edit each state via the menu Display->Zones and change the name from alabama to AL so that this name is used for the address instead of the full name.

I just found this thread and was wondering the same thing. Do I still need to change the names of the states in the Zones? Or has something changed in the past 5 months to make this easier?
