different folder for category images than product

I see that when i upload an image for the category it stores it in the same folder as all the images for the products.

Is it possible to separate these?

I would like to have the categories images stored somewhere like the media\images folder and have the product images stored in the upload folder as normal.

this way i can clear out the product images when i get new stock without the risk of deleting the category images which will stay the same.

Thanks in advance for your help.

That's only possible to have the product images in sub folders of that folder by importing them via CSV and specifying a folder in the images column of the CSV. Otherwise, it won't be possible.
