How to add Customer's note to Ordered product?

We are engraving company and need eg. to integrate Child name in one Cutlery order.

Yes. You need to go in the menu Display->Custom fields and create a new custom field of the table "order" and the type "textarea" and enabled on the front end and you will see it on your checkout (Business edition only).

Great feature. - but how to you "attach" the information from the textfield in invoice email?

The emails sent to the user should already contain the fields information automatically.

We would like to do the same thing but they should be able to input text before adding the item to their cart. I found you need to specify Custom field - type: item to do this.

How can I limit this field to being displayed only for a specific product or product group?

When you create such custom field, on the right area of the screen, you have the possibility to limit it to only some products categories.
