uploading product images

I'm trying to upload product images. I changed the path of the upload folder to match where i put the images but no matter what i do they dont show up.Even if i try to do it individually from the product page, i can select an image from my hard drive and it shows in the folder but nothing in the thumbnail folder nor in the box in the product page, only the name of the file. Using Joomla 1.5 and tried ie8 and google chrome. There were default images of barcodes but they have disappeared also.

Please make sure that the upload folder is writable so that HikaShop can create folders into it for the thumbnails.

How would I do that? The folders i have used already have had a thumbnail folder created by HikaShop already but there are no images in it?

Go in FTP to the media/com_hikashop/upload folder and change to permissions of the thumbnails folders to 777.

Ive now noticed that when I try and add an image from the product screen an error message flashes up but doesnt stay on the screen so I cant read it but i caught something about "doesnt exist in the folder" or something.

Could you try to get the full error message ?

Okay done that. Still the same. That folder doesnt exist anywhere in the media section but it does in the FTP. I cant create that folder either because it has a "_" in the name. So I used an existing folder and Ive changed the permission on your folder and on the existing one to 777 but its still the same.

These last error messages indicates that the filename is not correct.
What is the original file name ?

It should contain at least a dot before the jpg at the end.

Maybe it just comes from the file name ? Could you try with another file name ?

I see that your image is in the folder images/stories but hikashop uploads the images in the folder media/com_hikashop/upload. Did you change the upload folder in the configuration of HikaShop ?
Or maybe you're using your HTML editor image upload function ?
