Customer uploads an image

Is there a way a customer can upload files or images so they can be modified after payment is recieved and made available for download only unique to that customer ?

In the Business edition, you can create custom fields of the table "order" or "item" via the menu Display->Custom fields. Thanks to that, your customers will be able to upload their files during the checkout. You will be able to download them and change them in the back end. And they will be able to also download them on their order details page.
