9 beginner's questions was created by ThomasRH
New to Hikashop and an amateur at web site design. Having trouble setting it up. I have not set up any Categories.
1) Not sure if to use Menu or Module. I have 5 articles I am selling as downloads. Listing them under Product Listing in a Menu works but does not show the product description (a brief summary of the article) unless a person clicks on Choose Options. I want them to see it before they Choose Options. Any way to do this in Menu? In Module?
2) I want an overall description of the store to appear over all the individual products. Can I do this in Menu or Module? If so how?
3) Is there a way to have Add to Cart and Variants appear with the title in the Menu view or only after Choose Options is clicked?
4) The Variants I have are PDF and eBook. The Variant name is Download As. The radio buttons are right up against the title, no matter how short I make the title. I checked CSS for button format. Is there anything I else I can do?
5) how to get rid of the yellow color in Choose Options.
6) The title of an article is too close to the Choose Options box under it. Is there a way to modify this in Hikashop?
7) The price, $1.00 is above the Title of the article. Is there a way to get it underneath the title?
I don't understand the concept of Module. I don't want the cart module and the currency module, etc. on my Joomla Home Page. I want a user to be able to click on a Menu item called Store and go to the store with the Product and Category lists and the Currency module and cart module or something like this. I don't see how to set things up this way.
9) Finally, I have no logins for my website. Do I need to require some sort of login to sell things? This is a problem, as I want the absolute minimum requirements for a person to access my site and to buy anything.
Thanks!!

1/ You can do that with the menu like you did. You just need to edit the hikashop options of the menu and change the item box layout option to "image and description" so that the description is displayed on the listing.
2/ You can do that with your menu, like you did. Just turn on the "show description" option of your menu and in the main category, set your text in its description.
3/ Only after they click on "choose options".
4 5 6/ You should be able to change that with CSS. Hard to give a more precise answer without a link to that page.
7/ You will have to edit the file of your item box layout via the menu Display->Views to change it. It will depend on which layout you're selecting in point 1/. For the "image and description" layout, it will be the file "listing_img_desc" of the view "product" that you will have to edit.
8/ In modules, you can set a menu assignment. You could just assign your modules to where you want them to appear instead of having them on all menus.
9/ In the checkout tab of the configuration, you will turn off the "login" option to remove the login area, and change the "registration" option to "simplified registration" to remove the username/password fields. For the address fields, you can change them via the menu Display->Custom fields.

9 You cold disable the confirmation email in joomla, so the user can login just after registration. Go to Users -> User Manager. Klick on Options, just between help and Delete Icons. Set "New User Account Activation" to none

Nicolas,
I am trying to solve the same problem, but unfortunately I do not understand what you mean.

I would like to have the price underneath the description.

There is no description displayed on your products listing page.
You need to edit the file "listing_img_title" of the view "product" for your frontend template via the menu Display->Views. There, swap the price and the name area and save and that will make it like you want on your products listing.
