Add custom comments field to checkout screen

Is there a way to add a custom comments box to the checkout screen? I do not have the business edition (I have essentials edition) and have made many customizations so I don't want to upgrade.

Hi,

You can only do that with custom fields of the table "item" which is a feature of the Business edition.

If you did your customizations via views overrides (menu Display->Views) and/or plugins as we always recommend, you should not have problems updating.
