Custom Fields in Variants

I created a custom field for the product table for my client to store cost prices, suppliers etc. Is it possible to get this field to show in product variants as well? It would make sense to be able to add this type of info on a variant level, since cost prices and suppliers for the variants can be different.

You can actually enter the data in the custom product fields for your variants via the import of HikaShop.
However, this data is not used on the product page.
That would require some customization to handle.
It's not a high priority for us for now but we'll add that to the todo list.

So there isn't a way to include a textarea field on the product page? I sell personalised products and the customer needs to be able to input their text. I was hoping Hika would be a good alternative to VirtueMart, but this is a necessary function for my shop.

This question was about custom fields for variants of products (so that when you change the characteristics, the custom fields change too).

What you want is just normal custom fields so yes, you can do that with HikaShop.
For that, you need to create custom fields of the table "item" via the menu Display->Custom fields in the Business edition.
