Cart checkout Fields step

Hi,
please, what is Fields step of the Cart intended for ?
Mine is empty !

Yes, by default there is nothing in it.
It can display custom fields of the table "order" (you can create that via the menu Display->custom fields).

It's strange, because I have 3 of them relating to the customer.
But I see no way to affect them to customer or orders ?

That view is only for custom fields of the table 'order'. These are attached to orders and not users and can only be created with the Business edition of HikaShop.
Once a field has been created, you cannot change its table.
