import / export?

Hi Nicolas,
I migrated from joomla 1.5 and virtuemart 1.1.9 to joomla 1.7 and hikashop bisiness.
The whole process worked fine and all the products are now in hikashop.

I have 3 domain names and i tried to export the products from the 1rt site and import them to the 2nd site.
I tried using all the products and only a few of them. I received these error messages:
1.Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1024 bytes) in /home/synagerm/public_html/administrator/components/com_hikashop/helpers/import.php on line 315

The columns that are not in the list are columns i used in virtuemart. Through php i deleted all the old tables of virtuemart and joomla 1.5 but i still have the same errors.

Could you please help , because this is something that i want to do often?
I will pm you the domain name and a username and password if needed.
The language in frontend is greek , the backend english.
Thank you in advance.

Hi,

For errors 1 and 2, it means that your file is too big for the memory limitation in place. So using smaller files will solve the problem.

For 3, if you don't need these columns, you can just ignore the messages. It just tells you that the information of that column wasn't inserted. But the import of the products was still done successfully (at least that should be the case).

The first time i tried importing all the products and yes the file was big , but i did try importing only a few products and the file was only 114kb.

That should indeed not be a problem. You had a memory limit error also at that time ?

Yes -
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1024 bytes) in /home/synagerm/public_html/administrator/components/com_hikashop/helpers/import.php on line 315

Well, that error only happens when there is too much data in memory, so I don't see any other possibility other than the file is too big. Or maybe the system wasn't able to parse the file because of some of the special characters (greek?) in there ?
Could you provide your file so that we can see it ?

Well , of course it has greek characters. The file contains 62 products

Hi,

I run that file on our end and it imported successfully all the products and the categories (minus the errors for the columns which didn't existed on our end but that's normal since we didn't created them). The system didn't go over 15M of memory. It processed for 10 seconds so it's quite intensive but your problem doesn't come from the processing time.

I don't see why you would get such error.
The only 'simple' solution I can think of is to make a copy of your website on your local computer using akeeba backup and run the import on your local copy. Hopefully, the import should work on your local website. Then, restore it back to your website with your products imported.
