product image in product options?

There is no option for that.
You could add it as an additional image of the main product.

No, that's a lot more complex as the images data for options is not loaded on the product pages. You will need to know programming quite well to do that.

This would be a useful feature. A lot of options etc. may be variations of the product style and or colour so having the main product image show in the product options would certainly help.
