Upload Folder - Subfolders was created by argyweb
Hello,
Our online shop has a lot of products (images) and we're uploading everything through CSV.
Is it possible to create folders in the upload folder?? I've tried that the CSV find the images insider folders but I didn't achive it.
Also it will be great that thumbnails get inside a folder with the same name in upload/thumbnail
Thanks a lot
David

Hi,
In CSV you should be able to add the subfolder name in the images field:
product_code,images
prod1,"subfolder1/image.png,subfolder2/image2.png"

Hello,
I'm finally starting with inserting my products. In order to have all (future) product images nicely uploaded into a separate folder, I created a new folder
media/com_hikashop/upload/books/
and changed the field "upload folder" in config > files menu equally to
media/com_hikashop/upload/books/ .
All fine for the newly uploaded images, but one of a sudden all previously uploaded files have a wrong reference and disappeared (in fact fell back to the default barcode pic).
Can I (economically - means without fussing around too much) only use one single folder for hikashop images?
Thx in advance for clarifying,
M. :S

You can indeed only have one upload folder.
However, by importing your products via CSV, you can upload products in subfolders and then specify the subfolder in the CSV like explained above.
You could do a mix : create your products via the interface and then, upload the images manually via FTP in your subfolder.
Then, in the import screen, you could set the images via the text area:
product_code,images
my_product1,"subfolder1/image1.jpg,subfolder2/image3.jpg"
my_product2,"subfolder1/image2.jpg,subfolder2/image4.jpg"
for example.

Hm, thx for the advise but doesn't really sound suitable for my (simple) book-to-book workflow.
Will stick to the one-folder-option instead and try to keep an order in the filenames like
icon_filename.jpg
art(icle)_filename.jpg
...
Thx, M.
