Custom Fields related to Product Quantity

Custom Fields related to Product Quantity was created by bbaronas
I'm new to HikaShop and I would like to know how to make custom fields appear based on the quantity of a product ordered.
I'm offering registrations to an event. If someone chooses to purchase three seats for the event, I would like to ask for the names of those additional people who will be attending. Is this possible with custom fields? If so, how do I correlate a field(s) to the quantity ordered?
Thanks.

Hi,
It's not possible to do it like that.
One solution I can see would be to have only one custom field, and change the option "Display the quantity field on the product page" to "no input" in the Display tab of the configuration so that the user cannot select the quantity on the product page.
Then, he would have to add to the cart for each seat, allowing him to enter a different name for each seat.

Is there a way then to correlate more than one product to one custom field?
For example can I make a registration form where registrants select which event they wish to attend from a dropdown list and each selection refers to a different product [event] (i.e. the event in Houston, the event in Phoenix, the event in Denver, etc)?
Would this be a use for Characteristics and Options?
I'm trying to make a user-friendly way for registrants to add multiple people to these events. Registration forms seem the most logical (Users are asked if they want to add another registration). Can they select options for a product through a registration form?
Thanks

So in HikaShop, we have that event registration system:

The only limit which will be problematic to you is that a product can only be linked to one of the values of a custom field. So it works great when you have yes/no questions in your form. But if you want to have a selection between several values with one product for each value, then that's not possible for now.
There is a way though to do it. You create one custom entry field which is a dropdown with all your values.
Then, you create one custom entry field for each value so that the user can enter the name of the person and you limit it to the corresponding value of the other custom field.
In the same manner, you create a yes/no custom entry field for each value and you set the default value to yes and you limit it to the value of the first custom field and assign it to the corresponding product.
Finally, you can add CSS to hide the yes/no custom entry field.
You might end up with quite a bunch of custom entry fields, but that should allow you to do what you want.
If you use options instead on a product page:
One option is a product and each values of the options is a variant of that option product, and each variant can have a price. So in that respect, it might meet your need. But then, you can't limit custom fields to options selection. Either they always display, or never. So that won't do.
