google product plugin

Hello

I have a question depending the google product plugin and the collected data.

I have installed a cron task and on the google side the products.xml file is uploaded quite well.

But then I get some warnings from google.

1. The are missing the brand: I put one of my brands on the plugin page (in the field there) and the warning on th egoogle side was gone...but now all my products have THIS brand. Is there any possibility to get the information from the products page (manufature) in here?

Hi,

You can't do it with the manufacturer system but you can do it with a custom field of the table "product".
In the brand option of the plugin, enter the column name of the custom field that you created in order to select the google brand for each product and the plugin will use that value automatically.

I added a custom field to my products as follows:





and added it to the products plugin




But the feed is just getting the words "Google Brand" in it.

Pretty sure this is user error on my behalf but not sure what I have done wrong .

Any help sincerely appreciated.

The format of the feed is OK but the CDATA is blank.

Are you able to help me put the data from the custom field into the xml ?

There is no need to add any code.
Simply follow the recommendations of my message and it will work.
Looking at your screenshots, I see that you didn't enter the column name of the field ( googebrand ) in the plugin but the title of the field ( Google Brand ) which is why it didn't work.

Thanks Nicolas .. I've removed my hack and made the adjustment as per above & all works now.

How does this work ? Can I use column names in any field or just in the google products module ?

Only in the options there.
