How do I set/manage sales tax rate for PA, USA?

I have gone through all the sales tax setup topics in the forum...and I still can't figure this out!!!

I simply need to setup HikaShop to charge Pennsylvania sales tax...no other states. I have added the tax zone, but I can not add a tax rate.

Please help!!! This is the only thing keeping my site from being completed!!!

You'll just have to :
- Go to "Hikashop->System->Taxes->Manage rates->'New'"
- Create a new rate
- Come back to "Hikashop->System->Taxes"
- Edit your taxe
- Set a new rate

Hi, and thanks for the post...again, HikaShop is the hardest cart I have ever used to try to set sales tax.

I did the first, and created a New Rate and that was fine..

I then

- Come back to "Hikashop->System->Taxes"
- Edit your taxe
- Set a new rate

There is nothing there to edit.

Thing is, in each product now already entered = Product tax category

How do I make this new one, for PA only?

There is no tax zone to add.
It's actually quite easy to setup taxes in HikaShop albeit it can get complex if you don't do the correct things.
Here is a step by step to setup your tax for PA:


1. Go in System->Taxes, click on "manage tax rate"
2. If you don't have a tax rate, you need to create it via the new button.
3. Go in System->Taxes, click on new in order to create a new tax rule
4. Select the zone of the tax (your PA state zone), the rate that you just created, the tax category (there is already a default one), publish it and save.
5. In your products select the default tax category (it should actually already be the case for all the products).
6. Set a "main tax zone" other than PA in the configuration page of HikaShop if you don't want the taxes to be applied on your listings/product pages but only during the checkout after the user enters his address.
You tax is now setup.
