Urls for Latest Products

Hey everyone one, hope we are all doing well.
I am using the free version of the cart at the moment, testing the waters with SH404SEF.

I just had a couple of questions that I am hoping someone can help clear up for me.

On the main page of joomla, the Latest Products module is showing, however, when you click on an item, you get a url such as...

thesite.com/hikashop-menu-for-categories...-cut-pocket-tin.html

where is the hikashop-menu-for-categories-listing part of the url being created? can I change this at all?

It also does the same when you click on an item from the 'recently viewed' module, gives a url such as
hikashop-menu-for-categories-listing/product/66-zig-zag-express-tin-wind-up-toy.html

why does it do this? this creates duplicate urls which is really bad for seo

for example the url above, when clicked from recently viewed shows as
hikashop-menu-for-categories-listing/product/66-zig-zag-express-tin-wind-up-toy.html

but when clicked from its actual category, the url is
shop-collection/66-zig-zag-express-tin-wind-up-toy/category_pathway-21.html

The hikashop-menu-for-categories-listing is a default menu that is created when you install HikaShop.
You created another menu called "shop-collection". So in the "menu" option of your "recently viewed" module you should change from the hikashop-menu-for-categories-listing menu to the shop-collection menu and the links will then use your menu as you want.

For the fact that the links are different, that's because of the category_pathway in the parameters of the URL. The SEF options of the main tab of the configuration of HikaShop will allow you to remove that parameter so that you get exactly the same links.

I'm having a hard time finding this SEF option. I believe in the new version, SEF is under the Features tab?
What is the option named to get exactly the same links?
I have everything in the options set to Yes, but I can still get to the same product sometimes with a URL of "hikashop-menu-for-categories-listing", and other times "hikashop-menu-for-products-listing".

Hi,

The SEF options are indeed in the Features tab since a few releases of HikaShop.
The "hikashop-menu-for-categories-listing" and "hikashop-menu-for-products-listing" piece of the URLs are not controlled by HikaShop so changing the options of HikaShop won't change them. These come from the alias of your menu items that you can configure via the Joomla menu manager. Note that there is often some caching applied to the Joomla menu items alias and thus you might not see the change in the URLs when you change the alias of the menu items until you clear your website cache.
