Yet another shipping scenario

Hi,
I need to figure out how to configure shipping in this scenario: We plan to sell books and other items on our site. We will not actually ship the books ourselves but our supplier will ship them for us for a flat fee of $2.50 per order regardless of how many books the person buys. This would be a flat rate shipping scenario regardless of quantity. The other items that we sell will be shipped by us using USPS (I have the plugin) where shipping cost is based on total weight of order. The problem arises when a customer wants to purchase books AND other items - it creates a mix of shipping methods. I don't see how I can resolve this using the manual shipping plugin and USPS plugin as I don't see how I can define a mix of shipping methods. Any advice?

A solution is to not allow users to buy both type of products at the same time.
You can create a manual shipping method with a price of $2.5 and a minimum weight of 10000kg. Then, set the weight of the products shipped by your supplier to 10000kg.
When both types of products will be in the cart, the system will display an error message that you can personalize to tell the user that you can't do it.

Otherwise, you would have to customize the code of the USPS plugin to handle your supplier products. But you would have to find a 3rd party developer to do that for you.
