Re: change the order of the characteristics

I am also having the same problem with ordering of characteristics. Can you post the solution?

I just noticed my characteristics list is auto-sorting my characteristics by title, numerical first and then by alphabet.

Under System/configuration/display/Default parameters for products, "Ordering field" is set to "Ordering". Am I doing something wrong?

The values of the characteristics are ordered based on what you selected in the option "charactersitics values ordering" of the Display tab of the configuration. Set it to "ordering" and that will order them based on the ordering that you specified for each value.

For the characteristics themselves, they are displayed based on the ordering that you entered when adding them in each product.

I have the problem that the customer have to find out the "right" option, until it no longer displays "not availible".
It is possible to change the characteristics automaticly without any extra option of the customer?
For example:
when i choose green shoes->automaticly change on: size 7 and 8 ->automaticly change on: with shoelace

I see what you mean but that's not possible.
There are two alternatives:
1. You use the table display of characteristics in the configuration. That will only work if you have exactly two characteristics on your products and will display a 2d table of all the available variants and thus the user will directly see the variants he can select.
2. You use the list display of characteristics in the configuration. That will display all the available variants as a listing on the product page and thus the user will be able to add the variant he want directly, without selecting anything.
