price list and free shipping

Hi I am new with Hika and I used osCommerce before. Now I am looking for two things I am missing.
Auto create a price list (as pdf) and display it
I have products which (if only those are ordered) shipping is free

Do anyone have an idea how I can solve that with Hika -
appreciate your help

Hi,

You can publish the hikashop products listing menu item that you will find in the menu manager of Joomla and that menu will display all the products on your website when you click on it on the frontend. You can then simply add ?tmpl=component to that page to remove your template around the listing and then use your browser's print function to print the listing of products. If you have a virtual PDF printer driver installed on your computer, you will be able to save it as a PDF.

For products with free shipping, you can for example set a small weight in them like 1g and set a minimum weight of 10g in your normal manual shipping methods and create new manual shipping method with a price of 0 and a maximum weight of 10g.

Hi - Thank you - to make a pdf that way its ok - but its not the nicest if I like to have that pdf available on the website as well for customers - hope, that you will probably integrate a function als well in hika

And about the shipping, thats what I tried, but it dit not work - but I tried with 0 gr - now with 1 gr it worked. But the next problem is, this is only for Switzerland so I set the taxzone to Switzerland. But if it will be ordered from Germany, then its not for free - but the wight then is to small and the wight calculation for the right postal tax will not be correct ;-(
Is there a solution as well?

Thanks for helping - appreciate it very much!

Hi,

There is no PDF library by default in Joomla, so it would require a special plugin for that, like we did for the invoice PDF plugin. It's possible but we didn't had much requests for it so far. We'll see...

Then, instead of using weight restrictions for your free shipping method, you should use volume restrictions and setup dimensions in the product in a similar manner as the example I provided for the weight restriction.

Thanks, this is as well an option (volume) - but with wight I have to edit only a few products and with volume more then 100
Oder question: Normaly I am clever, but this time - I dont know, how can I get the search button for prodcts
I have the plugin categories search plugin and its active - but how to activate
Thanks in advance

Hi there,

I don't understand the problem you're facing by using the volume as a condition for your free shipping.
If you want to give a free shipping for these product it should be a problem to give them a especially big or small volume?
About the search plugin did you activate the filter search in Display>Filters? Activating this and playing with the options should allow you to do what you want

request +1

I would like to send the invoice as a PDF or show the invoice in the control panel and can then save as pdf.

that would be great.

Hi,

I think that you can use the plugin "invoice PDF".
