Shipping issue

I just wondered if Hikashop had the capabilities to estimate postage.

Basically in the UK, Royal Mail don't calculate postage solely by weight anymore, it estimates weight by but also on thickness! So one order which is 300 grams could cost £1.32 and another £2.24... it's a big difference. Also, how would you add the weight and cost of an envelope?

Also can we add more than one shipping option? We are intent on having Royal Mail 1st class, Royal Mail 2nd class and international delivery.

Can Hikashop do all this? Please advise.

I know that other users of HikaShop configured it to handle shipping with Royal Mail. If you go in the menu System->Shipping methods, and select the manual shippîng methods plugin, you can create your shipping methods with the restrictions and costs you need to apply. You can restrict the shipping methods based on the weight and the volume. That way you should be able to map the royal mail shipping costs in HikaShop.
