Problem with sub category display was created by hannsrifts
I have a small problem with sub category display on our website.
The module is set to display all sub categories, but the listing puts some of the categories together on one line. Only those with short names are affected.
The site url is www.hannsaquatica.co.uk
On the Shop Categories menu under Fish, the first line shows CatfishLake Malawi Haps. Catfish and Lake Malawi Haps are 2 sub categories. Similarly with Loaches and Plecs at the bottom of the categories.
Is this problem being caused by Hikashop or my template? Any pointers on how to solve it?

Hi,
It's just a CSS issue. You can add the CSS below on your website to avoid that:
.hikashop_category_list_item, .hikashop_product_list_item {
float: none !important;
}

Thanks Nicolas.
1 more question if you don't mind. I'd like to show the main categories and then have them expand on click to show the sub categories, without changing what happens in the main window.
At present, I can have the sub categories showing by default or just the main categories, but when trying to expand the Fish category it expands to show the sub menu and also links to the category listing.
I'm sure this is just the removal of the link code from a Hikashop view, but would welcome any guidance you can offer!
Many thanks again.

Hi,
You can simply turn off the HikaShop option "link on main categories" of your module in order to do that.

Yes, that does work, but it also stops the other categories from displaying content!
At present, we have 6 categories and only the Fish category has sub-categories. This is the category that we want to expand on click to show the sub categories, without changing the main display.
Is there a way of doing this, or do I need to turn off the "link on main categories" and create sub categories for the 5 other main categories?
**UPDATE**
I have just noticed that if you click on the blank area to the right of the text, the sub categories appear and the display doesn't change. It's only if you click on the text "Fish" that the hyperlink takes effect and changed the main display.

Hi,
Yes by default, there is a "+" icon on the right side of the category name. So clicking on it display just the sub categories in the listing without reloading the page.
If you want to remove the link on the name for the categories having sub-elements, you have to edit the view "category / listing_list", it require custom code.
