how to add a string that separates variants was created by av.opticom
How can I add a character string between the display of variants on the product page and in the cart? For example:
Product Name: Variant1 Variant2
becomes
Product Name: Variant1 with Variant2
Thanks.

Here are some shots. I'm not sure exactly which string I will use, but something like 'and' or '/'. Also since these combinations are long, is it also possible to out the two variants and the separator string on the line below the product name? Is it possible that one modification will affect both product display and cart display?
Thanks.
Dave
Thanks.

For the line break, you can simply add a translation override like that:
HIKA_VARIANT_SEPARATOR=":<br/>"
You can do that via the Languages tab of the configuration.
For a character between each variant, you can open the table hikashop_config of your database via phpmyadmin and add an entry with the namekey characteristics_values_separator and the value being the text you want between each variant.

Thanks Nicolas. The linebreak worked no problem, but not the string separator. I've added to the table as you suggested (see image). Does the entry need quotes, like this: 'and'?

That's looks ok.
Are you using a recent version of HikaShop ?
Also please make sure that there is no spacing character at the end of the config_namekey value or the system won't be able to find it.
Also, if you have some caching activated on your website, please make sure that you flush it.

Using HikaShop 2.1.3. Checked for spaces in table. Cleared cache... still not showing the additional string.

It's working fine on our end.
We'll have to look at that directly on your website as there must be something you're missing on your end.
Either it's not the good database you're editing, or something because it has to work.

For now I'm going to hold off on this. It's a minor thing that is low on the list because it presently involves only one limited time product.
As always, thanks to everyone for the excellent support.
