You can for example add such CSS in the main CSS file of your website template via the joomla template manager:
.hikashop_inserted_product{
width: 200px;
float: left;
}

The plugins are active, but i don't get the button to insert a product in the article manager as described on your How to page.
what am i doing wrong?

This would indicate that the "Hikashop product tag insertion plugin" plugin is deactivated or restricted in some way.
I've never seen another reason than that so far. Are you using a third party HTML editor ? If you change your HTML editor does it fixes the problem ?

mmm... i see. yes you are right. Although i use the standard editior ir is minimized (doesn't receive correct styling). Even when i toggle the editor to plain text mode...

So were you able to see the button now ? In any case, you can directly add the tags in the article without the product tag button. It's just easier to do it as it generate the tag for you if you use the button.

yes i can click it but i can not see it. It's a minor problem which i'm not going to solve After a couple of tries i know how to setup the product insertion tag and will, lazy as i am, Ctrl +c
