yes the page is completely blank and both hikashop search plugins were always enabled. I will ask my server host to check the other issue and get back to you

I'm still only getting a blank page with no errors when I search. However, the error log file produced these errors today. Maybe they might help.

Hi,

These are just warnings and are not relevant. What you're looking for is for a message with "Fatal error" instead of "PHP Warning". That's the only messages that can generate a complete blank page.

thanks Nicholas and I also checked with my host server - my server is configured to display error messages. I am now getting desperate as I need to solve this issue ASAP! What else can I do?

Hi,

Please understand that this blank page happens as soon as you try to access the search page of Joomla, even if you don't search anything. So it probably isn't linked to HikaShop but something else on your website.
If there is no error message, even though you set the "error reporting" to "maximum" in the Joomla configuration then I don't see what you can do. Without errors, it's not possible to see where the problem is coming from.
So do a backup of the website with akeeab backup or similar and restore it on a local web server (wamp,xamp) on your own computer and see what error you get on that page. Hopefully, you should get an error message on your local computer.

I've also noticed that the filter option in HikaShop reads: Only from HikaShop Business. Is this the issue maybe?

Indeed, upgrading to Business edition will not solve the search issue.
As Jerome said, HikaShop Filters and Search are separated things.

Without any error message we cannot help you with the Joomla search.

The filters of the Business edition can be an alternative to the Joomla search but it will only search in HikaShop products. If that's ok with you, then you can use the filters of HikaShop Business to create a search module which will search among your products. So that could be the alternative you're looking for as the Joomla search doesn't seem to work properly on your website.

yes in fact I ONLY need search inside hikashop and NOT for the rest of the website so this would be perfect for me. Can you briefly explain how this search is done before I upgrade to HikaBusiness please?

Hi,

There is no filter configured in our new demo website but it does you can create a new filter in a few seconds ; just go in the backend and create a text filter to test it directly (and see the result in the front-end)

thanks I managed to make the filter work but I have two questions: the filter only search inside that category - isn't it possible to have the filter search ALL categories in hikashop? Also, is it possible to have the filter added to a menu such as a top menu for example?

Hi,

Sure. That's not a problem. It's just a matter of configuration.
For example, you would create a products listing menu displaying all your products (There is already one installed by default with HikaShop when you install HikaShop so you could just move it from the HikaShop default menus to your main menu) and in its options, turn on the display of the filters and you would be able to have a search on all your products added as a top menu.

I've just realised that I'm not sure how to upgrade to Hikashop Business. I am currently using version 2.3.5. Is it possible to upgrade to business from this?
