Flutterwave
This plugin adds Flutterwave payments to your HikaShop store. At the end of the checkout your customer is sent to the Flutterwave payment page, pays by card, bank transfer, USSD or mobile money, and comes back to the thank you page of your shop. The money goes to your Flutterwave merchant account. The plugin is free.
Payment- Visa, Mastercard, Verve, bank transfer, USSD, M-Pesa, MTN, Airtel and the other mobile money networks your Flutterwave account offers, on the payment page of Flutterwave.
- The customer confirms a mobile money payment on their phone, and 3-D Secure is handled by Flutterwave for cards, so your shop never sees a card number.
- The order is charged in its own currency: Naira, Cedi, Kenyan, Ugandan and Tanzanian Shilling, Rwandan franc, Kwacha, CFA franc, Rand, US dollar, Euro, Pound and the other currencies Flutterwave accepts for your account.
- Choose the payment methods shown on the payment page, or leave the choice to your Flutterwave dashboard.
- The name, email address and phone number of the customer are sent along, and your shop name and logo can be shown on the payment page.
- The order is confirmed by the notification Flutterwave sends to your shop, and by the return of the customer, whichever comes first.
- A customer who closes the browser on the payment page, or whose mobile money confirmation arrives a few minutes later, still gets the order confirmed.
- The status, the amount and the currency of a payment are always read from Flutterwave, never taken from the notification or from the browser, so a payment cannot be faked.
- The notifications are checked against the secret hash of your Flutterwave account.
- A repeated notification confirms the order once and only once.
- Moving an order to the refunded status refunds its payment on Flutterwave.
- A refund Flutterwave refuses leaves the status of the order unchanged, with the reason, so you can see that something went wrong.
- Every payment and refund is written in the history of the order, with the Flutterwave transaction number, and in the payment log.
- Your test keys run the whole checkout against the test mode of Flutterwave, with the test cards, bank accounts and mobile money numbers Flutterwave publishes, before you take a real payment.
- A debug setting writes every exchange with Flutterwave in the payment log of HikaShop, without your secret key.
- 1) Open a Flutterwave account. It starts in test mode, with its test keys in Settings, API Keys; it takes live payments once Flutterwave has verified your business.
- 2) Download the Flutterwave plugin from our website.
- 3) Install it on your Joomla or WordPress website and enable it.
- 4) Go to HikaShop > Payment methods, create a Flutterwave payment method, enter the public key and the secret key, and save.
- 5) In your Flutterwave dashboard, Settings, Webhooks, paste the webhook URL the payment method shows and type a secret hash, then copy the same secret hash into the payment method.
- Public key and secret key: the keys of your Flutterwave account, test or live. The test keys put the payment method in test mode.
- Secret hash: the one you typed in the webhook settings of your Flutterwave dashboard.
- Payment methods: the ones offered on the payment page, or all those of your account. Flutterwave uses this list when the payment options of your dashboard are turned off.
- Title and logo shown on the payment page.
- Webhook URL: the address to paste in the webhook settings of your Flutterwave dashboard.
- Order statuses: the status of a paid order, of a failed payment and of a refunded order.
Flutterwave serves merchants in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zambia, Cameroon and other African countries, and businesses in the United States and the United Kingdom. The payment methods offered to your customers are the ones your Flutterwave account has.
