Hi you go in the configuration under the tab display, do you have the "custom" file selected for the frontend CSS ? Otherwise, it will use the default CSS. Please make sure that your custom CSS is selected and save the configuration. Also it could be because your CSS is cached by your browser so you might want to clean your browser's cache after changing your CSS.

You are right, i was not using the custom css. Now that i have the correct css checked and the cashe cleared i am still getting the display amount drop down box, but only on the catogory pages and not the product pages. Is it possible to have it deleted on all pages?
