One-page checkout for entire categories

Hi,

The new “One-Page Checkout” feature sounds exciting. A customer has a store where he sells physical products as well as some gift certificates. The gift certificates are displayed separately; from the outside, it doesn’t look like the same store. This new feature would be especially useful for gift certificates.

If I’m interpreting the text at www.hikashop.com/home/blog/541-hikashop-6-6-0.html correctly, would I have to create 50 individual menu items for the 50 gift certificates in order to use this feature? Or is there a way I can assign “One Page Checkout” to an entire category?

Hello Stefan,
On 6.6.0, the one page checkout is tied to the product selected in the menu item, so you would indeed need one menu item per gift certificate.
Your question made us look at this closely and we changed it for HikaShop 6.7.0. There, a single "Product page" menu item with the one page checkout can sell every product opened through it. Display your gift certificates category with a HikaShop module, select that menu item in the "Menu" setting of the module, and each certificate opens with its own checkout under it.
6.7.0 also adds a "Cart used" setting in the "One page checkout" tab of the menu item. By default, the page gets a cart of its own: a customer who already put physical products in the cart of your shop only orders the certificate on that page, and their cart is still there afterwards.
One thing to be aware of on 6.6.0 in the meantime: if a customer already has products in their cart when they open a one page product page, they need to change the quantity of the product on the page before ordering, otherwise the order will only contain the products of their cart. 6.7.0 fixes that as well.
