Custom Fields on Product Not Showing was created by blackballdesigns

I am running HikaShop Business edition and I have an issue with the custom fields for the product table. I created a lot of fields for the order table and they all work perfectly. But, when I create a custom field for the product table they don't show up on the product page. The only thing that happens is a little text box comes up that says "Specifications" but there are no fields under it.

Product custom fields are displayed on the edition page of products so that you can enter additional information for your products which would then display under that specifications text.
What you want is to create custom fields of the table "item".

Hi there, I have the same situation however when I create a new custom field, I do not see "items" as a possible table selection, any ideas why?

The table "item" for custom fields is only available in the Business edition.

So in order to show additional information on the products (a custom field i would make with brief product info, will show above the price) thumbnails, I would need the business edition. correct?

If you want to enter information for a product so that it can be displayed on the product page as additional information, you need to create custom fields of the table "product".

If you want your users to be able to enter information for the product they are buying on its product page, then you need to create custom fields of the table "item".

I had previously selected Products, then went to the product, added text to the new field. But it did not show on the product's page. any ideas?

Did you turn on the "frontend" display option of the field ?

Yes I did, I just read in another post that it might have to do with the Views? is this possibly the reason I cannot see it on the product page?

I have done two upgrades, to essential, and now to business. I already had my page modified and built with a custom template from the starter package.

Is there any quicker way of communication with hikashop's support? perhaps phone, Chat?

The views are the same regardless of the version.
It must come from your field options. Can you do a screenshot of the options ?

See attached, I cant think of any other way to do this.

Also note, the way I am displaying the thumbnail of products is by having a menu of type category.

Now, the only place where the custom field does show up, is inside the actual individual products page.

And did you enter some text in it in your products edition page ? The field will only display on the front end, if something was entered for it on the back end.

Yes, I placed text in the new field. Do I have to put content inside all the products in order for it to show up?, i only did it to two of the products, out of 8.

That's how it's supposed to be. Where else would you be looking for it ?
The product custom fields are only displayed in two places on the front end:
the product page
the comparison table with the comparison system is activated.

This site for example, you see below the product image, there is Title, price, a brief information about product, and Add to cart.

That is my goal.
In this site they used custom field (using the Product Table), and in the product's section they put that brief content. I do not know how they accomplished this.

There is no option for that.
You need to edit the file "listing_img_title" of the view "product" via the menu Display>Views and add such code:
<span><?php echo $this->row->intro_text; ?></span>

Thank you, that worked.

However, When ever I edit the Views, I have to go to the physical directory and find the file to edit. Because when ever I change the views within joomla/hikashop, it does not affect the website. its weird.
