Problem with characteristics in the backend

-- HikaShop version -- : Essential 2.3.5
-- Joomla version -- : 3.4.0
-- PHP version -- : 5.3.29
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : IE 11, FF, Chrome

Hi,

after the Joomla Update to the newest Version of 3.4.0 if have problems to manage the characteristics in the backend.

It is possible to create a new Characteristic but i can not manage the Values. The lightbox window of the "ADD VALUES" Button doesn't work. I can write the name of the value but i can not save it. also the edit button of values doesn't work.

I think its the problem of the lightbox window... maybe a javasricpt or jquery problem??!
I tried all browsers.

Please update to the new HikaShop version (2.4.0 at the time of this writing). You can tell from the changelog that it's "Joomla 3.4-ready".

How can i do that?

The menu item Update in the backend says:
You have the latest stable version of HikaShop Essential: 2.3.5

Here on this site: -> My account -> My subscriptions -> Download the latest version (2.4.0) of HikaShop (your edition, and your preferred package format)

Then install via the Joomla Extension Manager like a new extension over your existing version.

I'm having this same problem...yet I have 2.4.0...downloaded in February.

I can't.....my subscription ended in February after I downloaded the latest version of 2.4.0.

Is there no code I can input to fix it without having to pay for another version of 2.4.0?

For the "add characteristic", the best is to edit the file "administrator/components/com_hikashop/views/characteristic/tmpl/addcharacteristic.php" and replace By

In the event that I do purchase an extender...will these edits cause a problem with that update or will the newly purchased extender replace any changes I might make to the code?

Hi,

When you install an HikaShop update ; it will replace all core files.
So modifying a core file to apply a patch (that we gave you) is not problematic because the patches that we gave for the core files are in the future versions of HikaShop.
But if you want to hack the core to implement your custom feature ; at this moment it is totally different.
