I want to alter the content of the subscription expiration notice. This message is generated in the e-mail template 'Subscription expiration notice' with the code {TXT:SUBSCRIPTION_EXPIRATION_CONTENT}. I tried to alter this content with creating a language override with the constant SUBSCRIPTION_EXPIRATION_CONTENT. But this seems to alter nothing. So the simple question is, how can I change the content of the {TXT:SUBSCRIPTION_EXPIRATION_CONTENT} field in the e-mail template?

TXT tags in HikaShop are not dynamically processed ; they are defined in the "preload" part of the email.
In the preload you'll see that it's using the translation "SUBSCRIPTION_EXPIRATION_NOTICE_CONTENT" which is a translation with 2 parameters.

So I did it right but used the incorrect syntax? Changed it now to SUBSCRIPTION_EXPIRATION_NOTICE_CONTENT.

Yes, that was the right move but the translation is made in the "preload" part, not in the email.
Because translation can have parameters, these can't be within the HTML email template.
So, if you need to change another translation in an email, please look at the preload for more detail
