Hi,

You can develop such payment plugin yourself by following our documentation on hikashop plugin development if you're a developer:

There is no plan to develop a bitcoin payment plugin in the short term but it is on our todo list.

Nicolas, if you develop bitcoin payment, you'll get a lot of the tech people coming to hikashop because of it!

I'd like to see a bitcoin payment plugin as well - unfortunately can't fund a large development into it.
I'd see the ability to process bitcoin and alt crypto-currencies (litecoin etc) as a great marketing tool with all of the media attention lately.

Yes, I am a strong supporter of bitcoin and I have it on all my websites.
Hopefully we will get rid of all the fiat currencies soon.
My developer is working on it right now since this is my first joomla website.

You can either program it yourself(free) or use a provider but that will cost you 1%.
But even that is much cheaper compared to the usual 3% and you get the funds instantly.

Hi there,
I am also a bitcoin user and am looking for a payment plugin for Hikashop. I am no developer, so is there anything out yet?
Or does anybody have an alternative/workaround to use hikashop and accept bitcoins?
Looking forward to a plugin.

Hi,

"Bitcoin" is in our payment plugin TODO list with 55 other payment system.
As you can imagine, we can't do all of them in the same time so we have to put some priorities.
And like Nicolas said 6 months ago:

The more people request it, the higher it gets ;)

We are also very interested to add Bitcoin to our shop. Is there anyway we can order this plugin? I mean pay you to write it for us.. I am sure if everybody donate 2-5$, there would be more than enough money to get this plugin done.

My web developer should be done with the current websites we are developing tomorrow or on Tuesday.
We will start with this plugin after that.

From my perspective. I have bitcoin payments on my websites only to help support the cause of an independent currency.
The revenue from bitcoin payments is microscopic.

I would also like to pay for / buy a bitcoin plugin, though I think it will be a bit more than 2-5$. Polished Geek sent me a detailed offer and I asked them to put that information here in the forum.
@Extreme_one: Please let us know how the progress goes with your development. My goal is also to support and use an alternative, independent currency.
