Really not sure what is going on, or what the development status is for the free plugin. Polished Geek has not been involved in the development, so I can't give any more info than is listed here.

Last year we tried to organize a crowdfunded option that Polished Geek would have built using BitPay, but then Extreme_one offered to share his extension with the community when it was finished. Hey, everyone likes free, thus the crowdfunding idea was withdrawn in favor of all of us waiting for the free plugin. Hopefully it is very close to release now, but only Extreme_one can answer that question.

Theoretically, how would a bitcoin plugin work? Would it run a cron job to figure out the current BTC > your default currencies exchange rate? And then just wait for the customer to initiate transfer of funds from their wallet?

The way we have done it in the past for other shopping carts like VirtueMart 2 is utilize a wallet like BitPay - bitpay.com/ . The free HikaShop plugin under development by Extreme_one was supposedly going to use this method, if I recall correctly. Which is the same method used by TigerDirect ( thenextweb.com/insider/2014/01/23/tigerd...ler-largest-company/ ), so it's a very stable and trusted method of accepting Bitcoin.

Of all the plugins and tools Hikashop currently have, I believe the Bitcoin plugin will be the most sucessfull, if you create it.

Bitcoin is such a major part of the future that ignoring it and being late in development of it will set any business back in time....I mean this. And for all i know, extreeme_one is not going to develop this anyway (no feedback on posts)

At our site its critcal urgent to get bitpay to work with joomla. We have bitpay set up but i have no idea on how to implement it without setting it up as a plugin. Virtuemart has a plugin but that wont be compatible with joomla 3.x before May 2014 - WAY to late hehe

My question is, can anyone here at hikashop help us get bitpay working with our shop so we can start acceptiong bitcoin? We have the free version of hikashop, but if we get help, we will buy the full version today...and even pay some more to get it done if its needed. Money aint an issue here, not having bitpay working is hehe

I feel like HikaShop should be co-ordinating with extreme_one to get this finished and released. Obviously it's a big selling point for HIkaShop to have a working BTC payment plugin. Everyone benefits from it.
