Hi,

I should have removed all my modifications, the code is the default one.
To be sure, you can still install our latest version over your current install, it will override all the code files.

If you just assign all the "Mean Well" products to the "wyszukaj-wszystkie" category, so they will all be displayed in the menu:
www.shemeck.pl/produkty/category/265-wyszukaj-wszystkie
And the filters will allow to filter them by type / voltage.

For the css you can add this code too:

#hikashop_category_information_menu_132 .hikashop_submodules { display:none; }

And regarding the filter message on bottom of page, this is potentially linked to the issue of the module inside a menu.
If you look at a product listing page using the default menu, do you have such message ?

Dear Xavier,

Before Your investigation we had in css:
#hikashop_category_information_menu_132 .hikashop_submodules { display:none; } , but after this investigation it is not working anymore. I think because it is other hierarhy of class now. No we musted to put:

#hikashop_category_information_menu_132
.hikashop_products_listing{
display: none;
}

To get same results.

Regarding to filter - we have about 3500 products in Mean Well category - do You think is a good idea to put two categories for every product only for searching  ?

Best Regards

Hi,

What can be done is to have a hidden product listing menu on the "Mean Well" category and displaying "all the sub elements".
Then in the "Wyszukaj - Wszystkie" category set the alias of the menu for the "Canonical url" option.

Like that, you will have the listing of the desired products in a menu without having two categories per products.
Then in the menu settings you can add the filters, associate specific modules, etc.

Hello Xavier,

Thank You for this hint. I'm not understand only the last part of this. In hikashop hidden menus I add product listing as You said. This menu item has for example alias ('meanwell-wszystkie'). Now I don't know where to put this alias. To category alias or to category cannonical url?

In both cases when I click on category - I get same old category displaying.

Kind Regards and Thank You!

Hi,

You have to put the new menu alias in the "canonical url" field.
But be sure that you have enabled the canonical urls in Configuration > Features > SEF Url options.

If this is not enabled, you can select the option "Use canonical url if specified".

Hello Xavier,

Thanks for Your answer again.

Now I know why is not working for me. We need Accordion menu, so i think it is not compatible with cannonical urls.

Any other options...I'm still wondering why it worked before.

Kind Regards

Hi,

Indeed this extension does not seem to be compatible with our canonical urls system.
You could maybe try to add a redirection via the Joomla "redirect" component ?

Redirect from "/produkty/category/265-wyszukaj-wszystkie" to "/wyszukiwarka-meanwell".

Dear Xavier,

But then when somone will click on product on "wyszukaj-wszystkie" menu then will get a new url for product:
/wyszukaj-wszystkie/123-ABC for example when normal url for product is /product/produkty/123-ABC.

Is it problem for duplicated urls?
Best Regards

Hi,

As long as you have one URL in the "canonical URL" field of your products, it's not a problem.

Dear Nicolas,

I think it is not answer for my question or I don't understand. Xavier proposed to use another menu for filtering all products therefore I get two urls for same product. One for menu with categories division and one with filtering for all products. Is not a problem for seo?

I'm using only generation of cannonicals for products.

Hi,

You're asking "I get two urls for same product. Is not a problem for seo?"

And I answered "As long as you have one URL in the "canonical URL" field of your products, it's not a problem."

My answer is for that question. What are you not understanding in my answer ?

Dear Nicolas,

I'm not a specialist as You, so it is possible that I'm not understanding some infos. First of all I'm trying to find solution, because something in new Hika is working in different way that in Old one, so please don't be mad at me. I'm trying also to be sure that everything will be ok if I change something. Like I said we not using cannonical url field.

So finally two different urls for same product will not be a problem for Google? For examlpe:
/filtering-main/123-ABC and /product/123-ABC
?

Hi,

Sorry if I sounded mad, that was not my intention.
It will be a problem if you don't enter one of the two URLs in the canonical URL field of the product.
That's why I'm telling you that you should do that. It won't break HikaShop. It's the opposite. It will improve your SEO.

Dear Nicolas,

Ok, thanks...I thought that You was mad on me :)

Now I know what You mean. So If I generate cannonicals this should to make a job. Then everytime url should be the same. So I have almost solution for that problem.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but If I set cannonical to product for example /produkty/product/123-ABC and try to select from the other menu (filtering-all) then I get other url: /filtering-all/product/123-ABC.

I think it is only a last little thing :)

Best Regards

Hi,

The Canonical URL won't give the same URL everywhere by default. It will just add a canonical URL tag in the header of the product page which will tell search engines to index that URL and ignore the others.
That way, it will solve the SEO issue.
If you want the same URL everywhere, you can turn on the "force canonical URLs on listings" setting of the HikaShop configuration. But when you do, if the canonical URL is wrong, the links will not work so you need to be sure that you have the correct canonical URL in your products.

Hi,

Are the canonical urls filled for the products and / or categories ?
If both conditions are met, so you should have a unique url.

Do you have overrides on the views "category / listing" or "product / listing" ?

Dear Xavier,

Yes cannonical urls, are filled (and generating), but Your second question was a clue :)

I fixed listings (links) - and now it is ok.

Could You please check it if it is ok?

Kind Regards

Hello Xavier,

Thanks for checking.

We found something strange. If we use POST redirect. Then in filters You cannot uncheck "In stock only" checkbox. If You checked once You must to Reset Filter to uncheck.

Could You please check it also?
Kind Regards.
